1) Pray
Anyone can pray. ANYONE can pray. I don’t get how it all works, but I believe God listens to our prayers and stuff happens when we pray. So join me in praying for Tanzania and the work of VSI. I would be so grateful if you would pray for me, too. Pray that I won’t feel alone, that I will be filled with God’s strength, that I will be an effective teacher AND a good learner.
“More things are wrought by prayer than this world dreams of.”- Tennyson
2) Donate School Supplies
I’ll be taking two fifty pound containers of school supplies over to Tanzania with me. I am collecting:
Library books (they need to be non-fiction K-8 books)
Sports equipment (a volley ball net and a couple of volleyballs, a few soccer balls, a couple of Frisbees etc.)
Board games (think of games that don’t require a lot of English and that are simple to play – Trouble, Sorry, Uno are big favorites)
Special school supplies (think of donating a paper cutter, a couple of calculators, scissors, staplers, and magic markers etc.)
3) Go!
VSI needs more teachers. If you are a teacher (or willing to be trained to be a teacher) and are willing/able to serve in Africa, e-mail VSI and they will answer your questions and send you a preliminary application.
4) Give
If you’d like to contribute to the work I am doing with VSI, your donations are tax-deductible and can be sent to the following address:
Grace Community Church
159 Rochester Hill Rd
Rochester, NH 03867
Please make your checks out to Grace Community Church, with the memo line reading “For Jennifer Way/VSI.”
